Biography

Elisabeth Fowler is a Georgia‑based novelist and founder of Horizon Quill, an independent imprint dedicated to elevating underrepresented voices in speculative fiction. She writes emotionally layered fantasy and dystopian stories that center BIPOC characters, blending sharp social commentary with page‑turning plots in worlds that feel unsettlingly close to our own.

Rooted in her Alabama upbringing and lifelong love of complex, “messy” protagonists, Elisabeth’s work explores survival, faith, and identity in high‑stakes, character‑driven narratives. Her books have been recognized with honors, including the Firebird Book Award for The Lost Color of Namiri and an American Writer Awards finalist nod for The Chosen Trilogy: Sanctuary

Through Horizon Quill, Elisabeth champions stories by marginalized authors while continuing to expand her own interconnected speculative universes. When she isn’t drafting or revising, she’s usually collecting story fuel on her travels or designing one‑of‑a‑kind purses that are as unexpected as her plot twists.
